Some thoughts and words from Michael at basic training:

Week 1:
- It’s a lot harder and more intense than I thought.
- We have pockets but we can’t use them.
Week 3:
- Things still crazy but have calmed down compared to the first two weeks.
- Knot class was easy, helped shipmates.
- Gotta go shine my boots and iron my clothes.
Week 4:
- Made lots of friends for all over (Alaska, Texas, Alabama, Mass, etc.
- Took 1st place in 1.5 mile physical fitness qualification run.
- Aced mid-term and Helm Test
- Foods good but not as good as Auntie B’s!
- Get my orders and duty station assignment end of this week
- Check out USCGBOOTCAMP.com – Lima Company 180
Week 5:
- Start firefighting training and firearms qualification this week.
- I’m in the recruit band, which has it’s good and bad points
- Get to see Dolphins practicing maneuvers around base, which way cool!

Molly's Back at Reed!

Dinner with Molly and Brian.

Here's her dorm room - Molly has amazing luck in the housing lottery. She will never want to leave!

This is her desk in the library - seniors get their own private spaces.
